Acknowledge that You're a Sinner.
No matter how good a life that any person tries to live, we will still never live up to God's perfect standard. That is because we are all sinners. The Bible says, “No one is good—not even one” (Romans 3:23). We cannot become who we are supposed to be, or live the life we were created to live without Jesus Christ.
Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you.
The Bible tells us that “God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners” (Romans 5:8) This is the Good News, that God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die in our place when we least deserved it.
Confess and Repent of Your Sins
The Bible states, that when we confess our sins to God He will forgive us and cleanse us (1 John 1 :9) and that you must “Repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away” (Acts 3:19). The word repent means to change our direction in life, literally it means to turn around. Instead of running from God, we can run toward Him.
Receive Jesus Christ into your life.
Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going to church. It is having Christ Himself take residence in your life and heart. Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in . . .” (Revelation 3:20). Jesus is knocking on the door of you heart and He wants to have a relationship with you, He wants to forgive you and give you an abundant life. If you would like to have a relationship with Christ, simply pray this prayer and mean it in your heart:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus name, Amen.”
If you prayed this prayer, the Bible says you are now saved, you are forgiven, and you have been made a new creation in Jesus Christ. If you did pray this prayer, welcome to God's family, and please contact us so we can celebrate with you, give you a Bible, and connect with you!
